25 March 2024 Network News

After a 4th place in the Championship and an 8th place overall, but 1st French team in 2023, ENSTA Paris students are back for theEnergy Boat Challenge in Monaco from July 2 to 5, 2024. Like last year, ENSTA Alumni is supporting them through theFaites-nous rêver call for projects.

As a reminder, the aim of the project is to build an electric boat for one person to represent the school in 1 km speed, 4h endurance, handling and a two versus two championship.

The Taméo team, made up ofsome forty ENSTA Paris students, is busy designing the boat, requiring the application of a wide range of engineering skills in mechanics, IT, electronics, electricity...

Mechanical division :

The new, lighter chassis structure has been modeled. All that remains now is for the team to order the aluminum sections and weld them in place. A third engine has been added to the boat. Theboat's rear composite structure
, which is more aerodynamic and lighter, has been reinvented. The choice of propellers, seat and hulls for the first tests has also been made.

Electronics / IT department :

- Data recovery from all sensors via various protocols: CANBUS, UART, I2C, Analog
- Total redesign of the electrical schematic
- Getting to grips with the Raspberry Pi
- First PCB and routing of 300A power cables

IA division :

The first AI models work in simulation. Theseoptimize the boat's trajectory at sea, as well as its fuel consumption. The pilot is given the speed and course to
follow.

Thanks to the DGA, the Tameo team has also obtained a new
partnership with the LIS laboratory in Marseille to support the development of a tri-vision system (stereo vision extended to 3 cameras) to detect obstacles in the near and far field.
