ENSTA Alumni reiterates its support for the ENSTA team taking part in the Energy Boat Challenge in Monaco from July 2 to 5, as part of theFaites-nous rêver call for projects.

As a reminder, the aim of the project is to build an electric boat for one person to represent the school in 1 km speed, 4h endurance, maneuverability and a two versus two championship.

This year, around thirty students are working on the project, divided into different divisions (technical, AI, management, sponsor/communication), with one person in charge per division to simplify communication.

The project has received support from ENSTA Alumni, DGA and Naval Group (mainly for the AI part) and Yatch Moteur Club de France (notably to help organize the final tests on the Seine).

"As far as this year's boat improvements are concerned, we focused onoptimizing last year's boat. To do this, we changed the layout of the engines to improve boat control, with the addition of a differential between the front engines. We also reviewed the organization of the electrical boxes to reduce the number and size of cables and lighten the boat , while improving the robustness of the circuits. Initial trials on the Seine at the end of March were satisfactory.
As for the AI part, where the aim is to have an autonomous boat for the 2026 challenge, we are in the process ofintegrating a certain number of sensors on the boat (cameras, inertial unit, GPS, etc.) and we will be carrying out tests in Toulon in mid-May to validate certain parts of the code and acquire data for the development of the AI".
