22 May 2025 Network News

The ENSTA Alumni Association plans to award the Roger Brad prize in 2026.

The Roger Brard Prize was created by ENSTA Alumni to commemorate this great engineer and scientist, and to honor a French man or small team behind a significant innovation in the fields of "shipbuilding or its equipment, oceanography, the major industries involved in exploiting the resources of the sea and the seabed, and more generally the Marine Sciences and Techniques that may be embraced in the literal sense of the term Marine Engineering".

Awarded on a triennial basis since 1981 by a jury of experts and former prize-winners, the prize is intended to reward personalities in the midst of a mature career. Evaluation criteria include the economic interest of the innovation and confirmation of its usefulness through at least one successful practical application.

Have you carried out or contributed to outstanding work in the maritime sector? Are you aware of innovations in this sector and would like to see them rewarded? If so, don't hesitate to apply or to encourage others to apply!

Applications must be received no later than November 30, 2025, at secretariat[@]ensta.org; advance summaries are encouraged as soon as possible in pdf format:

  • nature of the work carried out and its application;
  • innovative character, economic and industrial interest;
  • brief biographies of the candidate(s).
